About Me

The last four years of my life have been marked by growth and the answer to God’s call. There have been many ups and downs, trials, triumphs, temptations and victories. College is a crazy time of maturing spiritually, physically, emotionally and financially. But no matter, I have learned and relearned in the past four years that all my battles have already been won. No matter how big or how small, my life is covered in the blood and a simple turn towards the Father will redeem every Spiritual gift that I was endowed with way before I took my first earthly breath.

My time at UK has revealed a calling towards missions and medicine. I quickly realized my freshman year that the typical engineering industry was not for me. Following this season, I dropped my majors in electrical engineering and computer engineering, decided to keep my major in software engineering and pair it with a major in neuroscience and a minor in mathematics with a premed track. I spent the next two and a half years boldly pursuing medical school with intention of becoming a neurosurgeon. In the Spring of 2016, I began leading teams of students to Guatemala; the following summer I incorporated a non-profit organization called Building Hope Missions and have since led over 100 students to Guatemala where 10 have been baptized and 6 have chosen to explore missions more long term. Glory to God. The future and growth of Building Hope Missions is currently adapting to the diverse lifestyles of its leadership (grad school, new careers, seniors in undergrad). This organization is currently being rebranded and revamped as Interlaced Ministries. This organization is set to launch in August of ’18.

In the summer of 2017 I got engaged, was accepted into medical school and could see my future falling into order just as I had planned it. The only problem here was that this was my plan, organized completely without my eyes set on His. My relentless drive made me blind to God’s path and my fall was fittingly abrupt and destructive; otherwise, I undoubtedly would have never been awoken to the greater call God had paved for me. In November of 2017, my engagement abruptly ended, and I quickly realized that I was not supposed to enroll in medical school in the Fall. At ground zero I was finally at a place where I had to plead to Jesus, to call out to Him, and to give all of myself back to my Creator. The process was hard-fought; spiritual warfare is not child’s play. But the result has created more joy and discernment in my life than ever. In January of 2018 I gave my full yes to God, agreeing to trust Him on a longer-term mission trip to Guatemala and receiving a deferred acceptance to UK’s College of Medicine for the Fall of 2019. I have maintained a strong call towards medicine. However, I now know that this education will be paired with ministry and rooted in evangelism and discipleship. My foresight envisions an international non-profit organization that seeks to plant churches (the body, not the building) and clinics that provide medical and spiritual healing. I intend to use my medical degree not only to practice medicine, but also to network with other doctors who have a calling on their life to full-time missions and as a foundation to see the gift of healing bear fruit in my walk with Jesus.

Through months of stillness, patient reconciliation and messages from God, I prepared to journey to Guatemala from June 4, 2018 to January 25, 2019. Throughout June, I honed my Spanish skills and evangelized in the city of Antigua. In July I moved onto Catalyst Resources missionary complex. The final seven months will be spent working with missionaries in many different impoverished areas of Guatemala and with Access Church in the city. Part of this ministry will be to ‘equip’ new believers with the armor of God. This will be done spiritually through evangelism and discipleship classes and physically by providing the sword of the Spirit (Spanish bibles) and the gospel of peace (new shoes) to new believers that are discipled through this program. Dr. Bill Brian from Bowling Green, KY will also be establishing his ministry in Guatemala during this time and I will be aiding in this project. To learn more about my ministry, click on the ministry tab above. In my quiet time with Jesus I will be blogging and writing a book and maintaining a blog for my Spiritual supporters to keep up with my journey.

After returning home I will be matriculating into UK Medical School in August of 2019. Following medical school and residency I will seek out full time missions within medicine. I am excited to see how Jesus continues to use my hands and feet everyday for the growth of His magnificent creation.

Thank you for being a part of my story and I look forward to sharing so much more as God provides,
